Victim Identified In Phillpot Park Shooting

The Tulsa Police have identified Crystal Bradley as the victim of a homicide at Phillpot Park on Friday. The suspect, James Landry, was arrested on a federal charge of manslaughter.

Investigators said Landry shot and killed his girlfriend at a park near Highway 75 and West 41st Street.

Court records show that James Landry admitted to shooting Bradley, but said the shooting was an accident. Officers found a shotgun at the scene hidden under some sticks.

Police said this is a federal charge because the victim, Bradley, is Native American. After the recent Supreme Court ruling in the McGirt case that returns criminal justice jurisdiction to the tribal lands, this case will be handled through federal authorities.

Tulsa Police said they are assisting FBI and tribal authorities in the case.
