2 Killed In Crash Involving Cherokee County Deputy

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that two people were killed after a crash involving a deputy Friday night.

The sheriff's office says it was a head-on crash on North 510 Road near Moodys, Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 20-year-old Jared Whipple-Wilkerson and 22-year-old Grace Blaylock of Tahlequah were in one of the vehicles and were both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Cherokee County Sheriff Chennault says Deputy Ryan Young was was transported to a hospital but has since been released.

The Oklahoma Highway patrol is still investigating the cause of the crash.
