Sand Springs Father Fighting For His Life In ICU After Motorcycle Crash

A Sand Springs father is fighting for his life in the ICU after a bad motorcycle crash this holiday weekend. Friends and family said they’re clinging on to hope.

Mariah Meschkat said everything happened so fast. After a fun night celebrating the Fourth of July, she is now recovering, and her fiancée Allan Simpson is fighting to pull through.

Friends and family were together celebrating the Fourth at a campsite near Cleveland. Meschkat said she and Simpson had a perfect night together.

"After the big grand finale, everyone started parting ways," said Meschkat.

Meschkat said she was on Simpson’s bike, and when they exited Highway 412, Simpson lost control and hit the grass.

"As soon as we hit the grass, all I remember is the headlights going crazy," Meschkat said. "I was already screaming for him, wondering where he was at."

Simpson’s friends, Brett Rossi and Thomas Jeffers, and cousin, Victoria Simpson, were all close behind and rushed on the scene. Despite the pain from the crash, Meschkat could only think about Simpson.

Meschkat had bad road rash, gashes and a broken elbow. Simpson suffered a skull fracture and is currently in the ICU on a ventilator with brain bleeding.

His friends said he's shy but so kind and funny, and this has felt like a nightmare.

"He's got the biggest heart ever, he would give anybody the shirt off his back," Meschkat said.

"He still has a long road to recovery for sure," said Thomas.

Meschkat is praying her fiancée pulls through, and she can't imagine their young daughter not having her dad around.

"We're in a waiting game, hoping he'll pull through," Meschkat said. "He is so strong."

Meschkat said Simpson was coughing Wednesday, which is a good sign. She is asking for lots of prayers and support from everybody.
