The man at the center of a Supreme Court ruling on tribal jurisdiction and sovereignty has been found guilty of murder in federal court.
Patrick Murphy was convicted in 2000 of murdering his girlfriend’s former lover and sentenced to death. The case was dismissed last year due to the Supreme Court ruling on tribal sovereignty as Murphy is a member of the Muscogee Nation.
