OSBI Investigates After Body Found On Campus At Southeastern Oklahoma State University

A body was found on the campus of Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation reported.

A campus employee found the body of a man inside a vehicle in the 300 block of University behind the Southeastern Baptist Student Union building, agents said. The discovery happened about 1:30 p.m. Monday.

Arvell James Brown, 57, of Antlers, was identified as the man found in the vehicle.

Officers responded the scene and asked the OSBI to assist in the investigation.

OSBI said Brown did not have a connection to Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Based on preliminary findings, OSBI agents said there does not appear to be an ongoing threat to the campus community or residents of Durant.

The medical examiner's office will determine Brown's manner and cause of death.
