Organizers behind a new online database are hoping to make it easier for people living in Tulsa County to find information about the makeup of the area. The current information is based largely on the data from the 2020 census.
The Census Information Center of Eastern Oklahoma, a branch of the Community Service Council in Tulsa, recently launched the dashboard. Visitors can find information about Tulsa County’s demographics, including poverty rates, living wages and health indicators.
Organizers said having easily accessible information is important for people living in Tulsa County, including policymakers.
“Knowing who lives in our communities, what the characteristics are and the particular needs of those communities is crucial to make the right decisions,” said Melanie Poulter, who sifted through much of the census data for the Community Service Council.
