A Tulsa family just moved into their dream home and three weeks later, it caught fire and they've lost everything they own.
Julia Clary was on her way home from work last week when she got a frantic call from her husband Jacob that their house was on fire.
"I looked up and I could see the smoke in the sky and I was like oh my god this is serious," she said.
She says by the time she got home five minutes later, the roof of the house had caved in. She says they've lost everything, and the things that didn't get burned have water and smoke damage.
"A lot of it, everybody's like oh it's material possessions, but yes it's material possessions but like it's our home, and all of my memories, they're gone," she said.
The fire department says the fire was electrical and started in the garage.
He says it all happened so fast, and his main priority was getting their kids out safely.
"I'm going to sift through what we have and it already breaks my heart, it does, but it's monetary things, it's memories, that's fine, but you get more memories when someone is still alive," Jacob said.
Julia says this has been a nightmare, and she's grieving what they've lost, but so many people have stepped up to help them with things like meals and clothes.
"People who are feeding us, people who are putting us up, I'm wearing everybody else's clothes right now, the little things, like somebody realized I needed a toothbrush, it's that stuff that's just really humbling," she said.
The family is staying in a hotel for the week while they figure out what's next, and Julia says they are just thankful everyone is safe.
"It's just going to be one step at a time, one day at a time because there's not a handbook for what to do when everything you own goes up in flames," she said.
