Get your sweet tooth ready, the Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma are preparing to launch their annual cookie sale.
Hundreds of thousands of cookie boxes are stored in the warehouse until next week when troops will come to pick up the cases and distribute the cookies across Green Country.
Online sales start this weekend and booth sales start in February.
Girl Scouts are known for their popular cookies, but Farrah, a 7th grader at Jenks Public Schools, said it's so much more.
She's been part of the Girl Scouts organization for eight years.
"I just like the sisterhood of it. Developing new friends, learning new skills, and expanding knowledge because that's a really important thing to do,” Farrah said.
Farrah said she's saving for the Travel Troop and hoping to visit the United Kingdom next year.
"It's where different girls across the council come and they get to go on a trip. So, all the cookies that I'm selling this year are going to go to my travel troop funds,” Farrah said.
All the classic cookies are back including Thin Mints, Samoas and Tag-a-longs.
There's also a new flavor: Adventurefuls, a brownie cookie with caramel-flavored filling and chocolate drizzle.
Celeste Franklin, Director of Product Programs for Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma, said while cookie sales fundraiser activities, the process teaches girls life skills.
"So, we are focusing on goal-setting, but they have to learn money-management and decision-making, we work on business ethics and all kinds of things related to being an entrepreneur,” Franklin said.
New this year, you can text the word "Cookies" to 59618, click the link and enter your zip code to find the nearest cookie booth near you.
There is also an official “Girl Scout Cookie Finder” app for your phone.
On February 11, Girl Scouts will be selling cookies at several locations throughout Green Country.
Booth sales will be at Walmart, Bass Pro, Lowe’s, Mother Road Market, Woodland Hills Mall, and drive-thru booths at select Arvest Bank branches during the weekend.
Starting February 18, you can purchase cookies from a local Girl Scout troop online, for shipment to your door or to donate cookies to local causes.
