Oklahoma Festival Of Ballooning Happening This Weekend In Muskogee

The Oklahoma Festival of Ballooning is back off the ground Saturday morning in Muskogee.

The event is taking place at the Hatbox Field, and pilots have already started to launch their balloons for a competition.

The festival will include live music, an assortment of food trucks and vendors, a 5k run and an opportunity to see the hot air balloons glow Saturday evening.

Muskogee Tourism Director Jordyn Jorgensen said she hopes the event brings in many people from out of town.

"We have a lot of day trippers in Muskogee and that's great because we have a great access point with our highways and where we are located, but whenever we have people that are coming in town, sometimes there's not as much to do as you would have in a big city, so we really will wrap our arms around these larger events because it will bring a lot more tourism for us," Jorgensen said.

The festival will run through Sunday evening.
