This weekend marks five years since Greg Loving was burned to death in his car in Mayes County.
Chief Investigator Wayne Stinnett said there are people out there that know something and either believe authorities already have that information or are reluctant to come forward.
He said any little piece of information could be the piece of information that allows them to close the half a decade long case.
His family still doesn't know who murdered Greg Loving in his 1993 Cadillac in Mayes County five years ago, or why.
“That haunts me, just think about the way he died. He was burned alive," said Kelly Loving, Father.
"Mr. Lovings vehicle was set on fire while he was alive in the vehicle," said Wayne Stinnett, Chief Investigator for the 12th District Attorney's Office.
The family is desperate for answers.
“There’s a killer out there," said Kelli Newman, Sister.
"Are they still a danger to the community? Their actions on the night of October 29th, 2017, would say yes," said Stinnett. "We're currently in the process of trying to use some creative methods to investigate this and to hold the people who are responsible accountable."
Investigator Wayne Stinnett said the pandemic put everything on pause but now they have new leads.
"We have leads. We actually continue to have leads. I received some new information a couple of weeks ago that we're continuing to follow through. There are new people to interview who may have new information to provide us with helpful information that would point us towards a more direct end," said Stinnett. "Any little piece of information could be the piece of information that allows us to close this case."
“The grand jury has just heard the evidence of this case and they’re trying to see if they can get enough evidence to hold someone accountable," said Jack Long, Cousin.
Greg's family said he was generous.
“He was just bigger than life," said Jessika Loving, Sister.
“I talked to him every day,” said Kelly Loving, Father.
“We’ll never be able to talk to him or hear his voice,” said Kelli Newman, Sister.
They want justice.
“Whoever did this, it has to be a heavy weight,” said Kelli Newman, Sister.
“You can’t explain how it feels to a parent to know that your child just doesn’t exist. That his existence is just gone. Your mind just can’t comprehend it,” said Kelly Loving, Father.
Anyone with any information needs to call authorities and ask for Wayne Stinnett, at (918) 923-4960.
"I believe that this is gonna get solved. I think that we have a lot of information. I believe that we have the ability to close this case and to hold the people responsible accountable for this and I certainly believe that we're going to do that," said Stinnett.
