It’s been a hot and stuffy week for Green Country, but some heat relief is almost here as we head into the long holiday weekend!
What is Friday's forecast?
Scattered shower and storm chances increase on Friday as a cool front gets closer to the area. A few showers could drift into northeastern Oklahoma Friday morning, with a better chance of scattered storms flaring up Friday afternoon and evening, a few of which could be heavy. The gradual cool-down will start on Friday as those shower and storm chances arrive with highs mostly in the upper 80s, but Friday will remain muggy with heat indices still in the 90s.
Shower chances will linger into Saturday east and southeast of Tulsa as that cool front continues to slowly sag south this weekend. By Sunday into Labor Day Monday, rain chances appear to shift mostly south of Green Country towards the Red River, with very pleasant high temperatures in the upper 80s continuing. This should make for great conditions for your holiday weekend plans!
