Court Finds Tulsa Man Guilty Of First-Degree Murder For Shooting, Killing Woman In 2021

A man is found guilty of first-degree murder for the shooting death of a Tulsa woman in 2021.

Jakyree Butler shot and killed Shermiya Breed in a neighborhood near 36th St. N. and MLK in November of 2021, authorities say.

Investigators determined Butler was meeting Breed to buy marijuana from her.

Officers said Butler fled to Texas the day after the murder, but Wichita Falls Police arrested him.

He will be sentenced in September, records show.
