Early Voting Starts Wednesday In Oklahoma: Tulsa County Expects Over 20,000 Participants

Early voting begins Oct. 30 throughout Oklahoma, and the Tulsa County Election Board Secretary predicts more than 20,000 people will choose that option to cast their ballot.

Tulsa County has a new primary site for early voting, at 12000 E Skelly Drive. The Election Board is moving to that building next year but plans to hold early voting there for this election because it has more space and parking than their current office at 555 North Denver Avenue.

The current building will still be open for early voting. It is also the only place where absentee ballots can be dropped off in-person, and only until 5 p.m. on Nov. 4.

“We've got tons of room on the inside so we can get voters in, and through the lines and voted and out the door as quickly as possible,” said Gwen Freeman, the Board Secretary.

The election board is processing absentee ballots now, which will be added to the count on November 5th.

The board reports mailing out more than 23,000 absentee ballots for Tulsa County, with almost 9,000 already returned, which can be by done by mail or in person.

“Make sure you do that by 5 p.m. the day before the election, and if you're going to mail it, make sure you do that now,” said Freeman.

There will be four days for early voting, starting Wednesday, October 30th, and running through Saturday, Nov. 2.

Registration has now closed and the deadline for requesting an absentee ballot has passed. Voters can look up their precinct and view sample ballots through the Oklahoma voter portal.
